Description

Mill View and Hillcrest are a pair of cottages located on Wethersfield Road in Finchingfield. They date from the early 19th century or possibly earlier. The cottages are timber framed and plastered, with a thatched roof. They have five bays facing north, featuring an axial stack and a rear stack at the right end. The buildings are one storey high with attics.

Mill View, on the left, has three 19th-century casement windows, one additional casement in a slated swept dormer, and a plain boarded door. Hillcrest, on the right, has two 19th-century casements, two more in slated swept dormers, and a 20th-century door set in a trellised thatched porch. There is a lean-to extension at the right end of Hillcrest. The roof is half-hipped at both ends.
