Description
Bits and Pieces is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the 17th century and has been altered in the 18th and 20th centuries. The building is timber framed, plastered, and has a roof made of handmade red clay tiles. It has three bays facing southeast, with a central stack that creates a lobby entrance. There is a two-storey extension at the rear of the right end, which dates from the 18th or 19th century. The building is two storeys high. On the ground floor, there is one 20th-century casement window and a 19th-century shopfront. The first floor features two 20th-century casement windows. The main entrance has a six-panel door set in a simple doorcase with a shallow hood, while there is also a four-panel door with glazed upper panels, also with a shallow hood. A sun firemark number 425573 is attached to the wall above the main door. Inside, there are chamfered axial beams with lamb's tongue stops present only in the left bay. There is a large wood-burning hearth facing right, which has been reduced for use with a coal fire. The building is listed for its group value.
