Description
Causeway Cottage is a house that dates from the 17th century or earlier, with alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed with a timber frame, has a plastered exterior, and is roofed with handmade red clay tiles. The building has four bays facing west and features an internal stack in the second bay from the left against the rear wall, along with a 20th-century internal stack at the left front corner. There is a rear extension at the left end. The cottage is one storey high with attics and includes two 20th-century casement windows and two 19th-century casement windows in gabled dormers. It has two plain boarded doors set in shallow gabled porches. Inside, the cottage features chamfered axial beams with lamb's tongue stops and a large wood-burning hearth that faces to the right. The building is listed for its group value.
