Description

Chestnut Villa is a mid-19th century house located on the north side of Church Hill in Finchingfield. The building features a rectangular plan that faces south and includes a central entrance hall. It has an axial stack at the right end and an external stack at the left end. The house is two storeys high and has two bays of casements with marginal lights, along with a three-window range of sashes that have six lights, some of which are original while others are later replacements. The entrance is marked by a six-panel door with the top panels glazed, set within a moulded doorcase that has a later shallow hood supported by profiled brackets. Chestnut Villa is listed for its group value.
