Description
This building is a stable block and cart sheds located about 15 metres south of Combourne Cottages. It dates from the 17th century or earlier and was clad and extended in the 18th to early 19th centuries. The stable block is timber-framed and weatherboarded, with the eastern wall clad in red brick and a stock-brick extension. It features plain tiled roofs and is one storey high with a steeply pitched hipped roof that has gablets. There is a boarded door and a shuttered window opening on the east and south faces. Adjoining to the west is an L-shaped cart shed, which has a hipped roof to the right and a half-hipped roof at the top, also one storey high with a loft. The cart shed includes a loft window and a cart door on the left hip end, with an open ground floor on the right hip end.
