Description
The stable block and cart shed, located north-west of Manor Farmhouse, is a Grade II listed building. The cart shed dates from the early 19th century, while the rest of the structure was built in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of flint with brick dressings and features pantiled roofs, with part of the cart shed being rendered.
The exterior of the cart shed is 1-2 storeys high and has a nearly symmetrical design. It includes a single-storey central carriage house with a five-window range, flanked by a taller stable block to the south-east and the cart shed to the north-west. The central block has double carriage doors, with two late 20th-century three-light casement windows on either side. The roof is gabled. The stable block has a central timber door, with a six-paned 19th-century window on each side, and two Diocletian windows above. It features a dentil eaves cornice and a gabled roof, along with a hay-loft doorway in the gable head. The cart shed to the north-west consists of three bays and is fitted with double timber doors, although the doors to the left bay are missing. It also has a gabled roof and a hay-loft doorway in the gable head, with louvred vent lights on either side.
Inside the stable block, there are timber and cast-iron stall guards and hay racks.
