Description

Manor Farmhouse, which includes an attached wing to the north, is a farmhouse dating from the early 18th century, with a south block added around 1800 that forms the main facade. The building is constructed of red brick, rendered and colorwashed, with a roof made of pantiles and black-glazed pantiles.

The farmhouse is two storeys high with a dormer attic and features a three-window range with corner pilasters. The central entrance has a six-panelled door with fielded panels, two of which are glazed, and is topped by a six-vaned fanlight. The timber doorcase includes block entablatures and an open pediment. On either side of the door are tripartite sashes, with two 2/2 unhorned sashes and one 6/6 unhorned sash. The first floor has two similar sashes, separated by a simple 6/6 unhorned sash above the doorway. The building is finished with a modillion eaves cornice and has a gabled roof featuring three flat-topped dormers fitted with 8/8 unhorned sashes. Internal gable-end stacks are located at both the east and west ends.

At the rear, the early 18th-century range is also two storeys high and has a three-window range of 19th-century sashes. The east front includes two early 18th-century two-light cross casements on the first floor. The gabled roof has a ridge stack located north of the center, and at the junction of the two blocks, there is an external stepped stack. Extending north from the farmhouse is a single-storey range of outbuildings made of red brick, with some flint and pantiled roofing.

Inside, there is a stick-baluster staircase with panelled square newel posts, and the principal rooms of the front block have six-panelled doors. The attached wing was listed separately on 17 October 1973.
