Description

This is a barn and two attached stock houses, dated 1797, located north-west of Manor Farmhouse in Swaffham. The structure is built of flint with random brick and features brick quoins, topped with pantiled roofs.

The barn has five bays and includes two full-height opposing doors on each side, although some have been partly replaced with corrugated iron. It also has slit ventilation lights and a dentil eaves cornice, with a gabled roof and an outshut against the south gable wall. The stock houses are single-storied with hipped roofs; the north range has weatherboarding on its south face, while the south range consists of eight bays of open stock shelters.

Inside, the barn features a roof supported by tie beams and two tiers of purlins, along with internal brick partitions. An enclosing brick wall extends southeast from the outshut of the barn, returning to create a closed yard that includes the stock houses.
