Description

Two barns are located to the north-east of Manor Farmhouse, dating from the 18th century and early 19th century. They are positioned end to end on the east side of a group of outbuildings. The barns are part timber-framed but primarily constructed from random flint and red brick, with black glazed pantiled roofs.

The rear barn is the older of the two, featuring an original upper storey that was likely used as a hayloft. It consists of four bays and has timber framing, remnants of old plaster, and some weatherboarding on the west side. There are louvred upper windows and a butt purlin roof. An early 19th-century lean-to extension made of red brick with black glazed pantiles is attached to the east side.

The larger barn, which adjoins on the south, has a random flint facade over random red brick, with red brick rusticated quoins and a dentil cornice. It has a hipped roof on the south side and a lean-to extension in the same materials along the east side, along with a large single-storey hipped porch. There is a blocked window in the south wall featuring an arched head and rusticated surround. In the west wall, there are long ventilation openings on each side of the high central doorway, which has an arched head and rusticated surrounds, divided by two brick mullions. Similar blocked openings are present along the east wall.
