Description
Honington Voluntary Controlled School is a primary school built in 1863, with later extensions. It is a single-storey structure made of red brick, featuring slightly projecting rusticated white brick dressings. The roof is glazed pantiled with stone copings at the gables. The original building consists of three bays, with a central enclosed gabled porch topped by a bell-cote. An extension matching the original materials was added to the east, followed by another similar extension to the west. Each bay has three-light Tudoresque mullion-and-transom windows, and there are long windows in a similar style at each gable end. The entrance features a plank door with raised pilaster strips. The school is included for its group value.
