Description
Old Oaks is a row of cottages dating from the 18th century, originally consisting of eight but now comprising six. The cottages are primarily timber-framed and rendered, except for No. 1, which is constructed of red brick, with the west gable wall made of red brick and random flint, both of which are now painted. They feature thatched roofs and are 1½ storeys tall, with four internal chimney-stacks that have plain red brick shafts. The windows are small-paned 2-light casements, with those in No. 1 set in surrounds that have arched heads. There are eight eyebrow dormers and two original plank doors leading to Old Oaks, while the other doors are 20th-century and half-glazed. The rear of the cottages has various later extensions with pantiled roofs.
