Description

This is a house, likely dating back to the 16th century or earlier, with extensions built in the 18th century and later, up to the 20th century. The original core is timber-framed and covered with weatherboarding, with later additions constructed using both weatherboarding and red brick. The roof is tiled. The building probably originated as a hall house and now has an irregular plan. It is two storeys high, with a hipped roof to the left side. A substantial cluster of chimneys is located on the left, and there is a projecting gabled wing to the left with its own stack, alongside a return wing to the right that steps down, potentially facing an exposed gable end or a large gablet. The gable end of the left-hand return wing overhangs at the left end. One wooden casement window is present on each floor, with two on each floor, and a boarded door is in the right-hand return wing. Two wooden casement windows are also on each floor of the left return elevation. The rear elevation features two gables.
