Description

Starling's Cottage is a 16th-century cottage located on the south side of Cranbrook Golford Road. It features a timber-framed structure with exposed framing and rendered infilling on the brick ground floor at the front. The first floor is tile hung on the sides, and the cottage has a plain tiled roof that is half hipped to the right. An end stack projects to the left with tumbled set-offs. The building is two storeys high with an attic and has a single central flat-headed dormer. There are two windows with diamond lattice casements and a boarded door with a centre light to the right. A later 20th-century extension is present on the right side. Inside, the cottage has a full frame with jowled posts and an end stack featuring a wooden bressummer.
