Description

The Oast is a building that was originally an oasthouse and is now a house, dating from the later 18th century. It features a timber-framed structure set on a cement plinth, with weatherboarding. The roof is plain tiled and includes gabled dormers on both the north and south sides, along with a catslide extension to the south. A cowl and wind-vane are located at the north end of the ridge. The building has one and a half storeys and an irregular east front, which has two windows on the first floor and four on the ground floor, all with wooden casements. There are also two central part-glazed doors. Inside, the timber framing of thin scantling is visible.
