Description
Whistler's is a hall house that has been converted into a private residence, originally serving as a public house. It dates back to the 15th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 20th centuries. The building features a timber frame, with red brick cladding on the ground floor and tile hanging on the first floor. The roof is plain tiled, hipped to the right, with an end stack on the left and a small projecting end stack on the right. The structure is two storeys high, with an irregular arrangement of windows: three on the first floor and two on the ground floor, plus a single window in a catslide extension to the left. The rear has a catslide roof and a large hipped 20th-century extension in the center. The main entrance is now located in this extension. Inside, there is much heavy framing visible, including an original dais beam on the south side of the drawing room. The roof features a crown-post collar-purlin design with a large arch-braced truss.
