Description
Golford Gate is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house. It dates from the late 16th century to early 17th century, with an 18th-century addition on the east side and 19th-century cladding. The building is timber-framed, featuring red brick cladding on the ground floor and weatherboarding above. It has plain tiled roofs with a parallel ridge, half-hipped gables, and a hipped gable at the rear right with a gabled dormer. There are tall brick stacks on both the right and left slopes. The structure consists of parallel blocks, with the left block extending further to the rear. It is two storeys high with attics and has a two-window front with iron-framed casements. There is a single oriel window in the attic of the right gable and a central boarded door. Inside, a substantial timber frame is visible.
