Description
Turk's Place is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the 16th century, with an 18th-century wing added to the rear on the right and 19th-century cladding. The building features a timber frame set on a red brick plinth, with tile hanging. The ground floor on the right side has red brick, while the first floor is covered in weatherboarding. It has a plain tiled hipped roof with a gablet on the left and a tall ridge stack that has deep arched panels on the sides to the right and front. The house is two storeys high with an irregular arrangement of windows, including doubled French casements in a hipped bay on the extreme right. There is a low 20th-century single storey wing on the left. The right return front has two storeys with four windows on the first floor and three on the ground floor. An arched doorway on the right features a deep 18th-century cornice hood above it. The main entrance is located at the rear. Inside, substantial framing is visible, including some curved braces.
