Description
No. 280 on Pratling Street is a farmhouse dating from the early to mid-18th century, with an early 19th-century block added to the rear. The ground floor is made of painted brick, while the first floor is rendered, showing some signs of timber-framing. The building features a wooden eaves cornice beneath a plain tiled roof, which has two hipped dormers and two large projecting chimney-breasts at the ends, along with an additional projecting chimney-breast at the left end of the rear block. It has a parallel ridge plan and stands two storeys high with attics. The front is symmetrical with three windows, and the ground floor windows are set under segmental brick arches. The windows are iron casement style. There is a central gabled and barge-boarded 20th-century weather-porch that has a boarded and ribbed door inside.
