Description
No. 298 on Ormskirk Road is a farmhouse, likely built in the mid-18th century, which has been altered and now includes a former stable or similar structure, all functioning as a single dwelling. The building features graduated coursed squared sandstone and a stone slate roof, with a double-depth plan. It stands two storeys high with an attic and has a layout of two windows plus one window, separated by a vertical joint. There is a two-course band running along the façade. The entrance is located between the first and second bays, characterized by a plain surround and a boarded door, while a wider doorway is positioned at the right end, featuring an altered door. Each floor has three square windows, all with modified glazing and 20th-century pseudo-shutters. The left gable includes two 2-light attic windows, and the building currently lacks chimneys.
