Description
No. 180 on Ormskirk Road is a small house built in the late 18th century, with some alterations. It features coursed squared sandstone and a stone slate roof. The house has a double-depth, double-fronted plan and stands two storeys tall with two windows that are almost symmetrical. There is a round-headed doorway that is slightly offset to the left of the center, surrounded by a broad rusticated quoined frame painted white. The ground floor has two vertical-rectangular windows with raised sills and rectangular lintels, while the first floor has two windows with flush sills, all fitted with 20th-century glazing. The house has gable chimneys. On the left gable wall, there is one two-light casement window on each floor, with the lower window now top-hung. The right gable has an inserted window near the front corner. The rear and interior of the house were not inspected. This property is part of an interesting group at Garnett Lees.
