Description

Nos. 286 and 288 on Ormskirk Road is a farmhouse, now a house, dated 1793 on the first floor and has been altered. It is constructed from coursed squared sandstone and features stone slate roofs. The building has a rectangular double-depth plan and stands two storeys high with three windows. There is a doorway located between the first and second bays, which has altered jambs and an arched stone head with a keystone. Each floor has three vertical-rectangular windows, all with raised sills and rectangular lintels, but these have been replaced with 20th-century casements. A ridge chimney is situated between the second and third bays, and there is a gable chimney on the left side.
