Description

Nos. 80 and 82 on Old Maltongate is a building that was originally one house but has been converted into two cottages. It dates from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the late 18th century and a subdivision in the 20th century. The structure is made of coursed rubble sandstone, with part of it resting on a brick plinth, and the right side is rendered. It features brick end stacks and a pantile roof. The building has a cross-passage plan and is two stories high with a two-window front, showing irregular quoins on the left side. The plain central door has a glazed panel above it. All the windows are three-light small-pane sliding sashes, and each opening is topped with painted timber lintels.
