Description
45A Old Maltongate is a former rear wing of No. 45, now functioning as a house. It dates from the early 19th century and has undergone some alterations. The building is constructed of orange-red brick in stretcher bond and features a pantile roof with a coped gable, a shaped kneeler, and a brick stack on the right side. It has a two-storey, two-window front. The entrance consists of a door with six raised-and-fielded panels, located to the left of a tripartite sash window. Above, there is a similar window, with a 16-pane sash to the left and a smaller inserted window further left. All original openings have flat arches made of gauged brick, except for one that is now blocked at the right end of the ground floor. Inside, it is reported that there are cast-iron firegrates in the rooms on the first and attic floors.
