Description

This is a small, two-storey, double-fronted house on Ormskirk Road, Garnett Lees, dating to 1868. It is constructed of coursed squared sandstone with a slate roof. The house follows a double-depth plan, with a rear outshut attached to the left. The front is symmetrical, featuring a round-headed doorway with plain jambs, imposts, and a dressed stone head with a keystone. It contains two windows per floor, all with raised sills and wedge lintels, although the glazing has been altered. A square datestone is centrally positioned on the first floor, inscribed with "B/ HE/ 1868". The initials on this datestone are the same as those found on the datestone of the nearby property at No.192. The building contributes to the group value of the houses at Garnett Lees.
