Description

Anchor Farmhouse, dating to circa 1700, incorporates a later 16th or early 17th century wing to the rear, and was re-fenestrated in the early 19th century. The construction is of red and blue brick, with a red and blue brick plinth. The eaves feature a modillion cornice, and the roof is tiled with two gabled dormers and projecting end stacks; the stack to the right is larger and has a base of random rubble stone. The farmhouse is two storeys and an attic, with a regular three-bay front featuring 19th-century casement windows, the central first-floor window being narrower. A central 19th-century panelled door is set within a moulded architrave surround with a projecting entablature hood. Inside, visible framing is present in the rear lean-to extension, and the rear wall of the main block is framed.
