Description
Tyland Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century. It is timber framed, rendered, and has a plain tile roof. The building is positioned at right angles to the road and consists of two storeys and an attic on a plinth. The roof is slightly lower to the left of the stack, which is off-centre to the left and set at right angles to the roof. It features a fillet to the farmyard and an arched panel on the longer side. There are late 19th-century projecting stacks at the left end and to the rear at the right end. A plain dormer is located to the right of the stack. The fenestration is irregular, with two sashes—one at the left end and one to the right of the stack—along with sashes below on the ground floor. There are two doors beneath bracketed flat hoods; the door immediately to the left of the stack is ribbed, while the one to the right of the right window is panelled. At the rear, there is a single-storey lean-to made of painted brick with a slate roof, extending to within a few feet of the right end.
