Description
No. 15 High Street is a building that originally served as a single house but has been converted into two shops. It is believed to be a 16th-century hall house that was refaced in the early 19th century and underwent alterations in the 20th century. The structure is timber-framed, featuring stucco cladding on the front and chequerwork brick at the rear. It has a tiled roof with an end brick chimney stack. The building stands two storeys tall and has two windows, primarily consisting of 16-pane sash windows, although the ground floor features three large sashes with horns. There are two 20th-century doorcases. Inside, the timber framing is exposed on the first floor, including a notable 4-centred arched beam that spans the width of the main staircase.
