Description
No. 27 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the 18th century and features a 20th-century front elevation, with a 16th-century wing at the rear. The building is constructed of red brick and has a plain tiled roof with a parapet and a central stack located behind the ridge. The rear wing is timber-framed and rendered. The structure stands three storeys tall and includes two canted bays that extend through all three storeys, topped with wooden cornice mouldings, which are placed irregularly to the left and right of the center. The central part of the building has a mid-20th-century projecting shop front, featuring a glazed door to the left and a horizontal band of shallow windows positioned high on the ground floor to the right. The lower wing is located behind the main structure. Inside, a substantial frame is visible in the rear wing.
