Description
Clout's Memorial Hall is an office that was originally a house and has served as an Institute since 1908. The building features an early 19th-century front that is attached to an 18th-century structure. The front is finished in stucco, while the sides are made of red brick with some grey headers. It has a steeply pitched slate roof at the front and a tiled roof on the left wing. The building is two stories tall and has three windows with 12-pane sashes. The central entrance includes a doorcase with a flat wooden hood supported by brackets, pilasters, a six-fielded panelled door, and a rectangular fanlight with Gothick glazing. Inside, there is an 18th-century winder staircase and painted panelling with a dado rail.
