Description
Moat House is a house, now used as an office, built around 1810. It is constructed of stuccoed brick and features a hipped slate roof. The building has a double-depth plan with a rear wing and is designed in the Regency style. It stands two storeys tall and has a symmetrical three-window arrangement. The ground floor is distinguished by channelled rustication and a cornice above, with a top frieze and wide eaves. The end windows project slightly forward. The entrance includes an overlight and a half-glazed door, while the tetrastyle porch is supported by fluted baseless Doric columns and features a Tuscan entablature. The ground floor windows are small-paned casements, and the first-floor windows are 9-pane sashes. The rear service wing has a mix of window styles, including 9-pane and 12-pane sashes as well as small-paned casements. Inside, there is a central open-well stair and some rooms feature cornices and other decorative elements.
