Description

28 Lichfield Street is a house that has been converted into an office. It was built in the 18th century, with an early 19th-century addition and refronting. The building is constructed of brick with a stucco facade and features a tile roof with brick end stacks and a cross-axial stack. It stands two storeys high and has a five-bay range. The bays are defined by pilasters, with a narrow entrance bay flanked by wider bays. To the right, there are two narrow bays that form the 19th-century addition, topped with a decorative entablature.

The entrance features a doorcase with pilasters and an entablature, along with an overlight above paired three-panel doors. There is also an entrance at the right end with a narrow overlight above a half-glazed door. The windows have sills; the ground floor windows are four-pane sashes, while the first-floor windows are twelve-pane sashes.

At the rear, the building has three gables and a small gabled wing on the right end, which includes irregular segmental-headed windows and a tall fifteen-pane stair window, along with two shuttered windows on the return. The windows on the 19th-century left end feature rubbed brick flat arches, with large four-pane horned sashes on the ground floor and twelve-pane sashes on the first floor. Inside, there is a stick-baluster staircase.
