Description

The Millhouse is a building that was originally a mill and is now a house. It dates from the 18th century, with a block on the left that is from the late 16th or early 17th century. The left side is timber-framed and exposed, while the right side features limewashed brick and some painted weatherboarding. The roofs are plain tiled.

On the right side, the building has three storeys and cellars, with a two-window front to the left that includes various loft entrances and cellar openings to the right. The central entrance features a half-glazed margin-light and a panelled door, which has panelled reveals and a projecting hood. The left side of the building is two storeys high with an irregular two-window front. The right-hand end of the building is adjacent to the mill-race, where the frame of the wheel still stands, though it was much dilapidated at the time of the re-survey.
