Description
Gardeners Cottage is a 16th-century cottage that was restored in the late 20th century. It features a random rubble plinth and a ground floor that is rendered, with applied framing and rendered infilling on the first floor. The roof is plain tiled and hipped to the left, with a projecting breast at the rear. The cottage is two storeys high and has a slightly irregular three-window front, which includes iron lattice casements and one doubled round-headed glazing bar sash on the right. The central entrance has a half-glazed door with a segmental head. It is possible that the building originally had a continuous jetty along the front, and there is a first-storey addition on the left. Inside, there is substantial timber framing and a queen-post side-purlin roof. Gardeners Cottage adjoins Granary Cottage on the right.
