Description
Three headstones are located about 10 metres north of the north aisle of the Church of St. Laurence. They commemorate George, Jane, and Sarah Heales, who died in 1731 and later. The first headstone is about 3 feet high and features a double plaque with a Rocaille scrolled head, embellished with two cherubs' heads and an eye in a sunburst. The second headstone, for Richard and Anne, who died in 1742, stands about 3 and a half feet high and has scrolled shoulders leading to a shaped cornice, adorned with two winged cherubs' heads and a flaming gadrooned urn on crossed trumpets. The third headstone, for Mary, dates to the early 18th century and is about 3 feet high, featuring segmental shaped heads and a crowned and winged death's head, though the inscription is illegible.
