Description
No. 1 with railed area is a terrace house dating from 1789 to 1792. It is constructed from stock brick, with some areas rendered, and has a slate roof. The building stands three storeys high with a basement, resting on a rusticated base and topped with a moulded cornice parapet, and a stack to the left. The third and second floors feature three sash windows within moulded surrounds. The first floor has three French windows, and a tented verandah supported by trellis piers and heart & wheel pattern ironwork rails fixed to scrolled brackets. A later 19th-century tripartite sash window, featuring attached colonnettes, is positioned beneath brackets supporting a dentil cornice and railed window boxes. A door with six moulded panels and a semi-circular fanlight leads to a flight of five steps. A basement sash window has vertical glazing bars, alongside a side entrance door. Simple ironwork rails lead to the steps, while the railed area features ramped spearhead rails and baluster finial principals.
