Description

Tollgate Cottage is an early 19th-century toll house located on the north side of Ramsgate Road in Sarre. The building is constructed of pale brown brick and features a plain tiled roof. It is a single-storey structure with a gabled projecting central piece, which has kneelered parapet gables. There are stacks located at the rear left, centre left, right, and rear right. The cottage has three glazing bar sash windows, along with wooden casements on the return fronts of the central projection. To the right of the central projection, there is a boarded door. This building is included for its group value with Sarre Mill and its historical associations.
