Description
No. 43 Ramsgate Road is a mid-19th century lodge that stands as a single storey structure. It is constructed of squared flints, featuring cobbled long and short quoins and window dressings. The roof is adorned with fishscale tiles and ridge tiles, and it has three gables that are decorated with wooden fretted bargeboards and pendants. The building includes five square flint and cobbled chimneystacks, one of which is topped with an octagonal stone moulded chimney pot. The windows have been simply altered, and there is a straightforward doorcase with a cobbled surround. Additionally, there are two gate piers that incorporate a stone shield depicting a hand and hammer, adding to the lodge's curiosity value.
