Description
Pierremont Hall is a former office building located on the south side of High Street in Broadstairs, designed by architect Samuel Pepys Cockerell in 1792. The structure features a main section that is three stories tall with a basement and has five windows, flanked by two wings that are each two stories high; the north wing has one window while the south wing has four. The exterior is finished in stucco and includes a cornice and parapet with a blank panel. The glazing bars are intact, and there are string courses above the ground and first floors. A central porch with three steps leads to the entrance, which is accompanied by area railings. The right wing contains two doorcases, one of which is round-headed. On the garden side, there is a portico supported by four pairs of coupled Ionic columns, accessed by five steps. Notably, the Duchess of Kent and Princess Victoria stayed at Pierremont Hall in 1826.
