Description

The Serene House, located in Serene Place, Broadstairs, dates back to 1603 but was refronted in the 18th century. This two-storey building is faced with flint and features red brick dressings, quoins, and a stringcourse. It has two hipped dormers and two sash windows with intact glazing bars on the first floor. The ground floor has a modern shop front. Inside, the house has a beamed interior and an inglenook fireplace. The Serene House is part of a group of listed buildings that includes Nos 9, 11A, 11B, and 15 High Street, as well as Nos 3 to 5 (consecutive) Raglan Place.
