Description
Earlylands is a 16th century or earlier timber-framed range of buildings that was formerly three small cottages. The garden front features one storey and an attic with three windows. It has a tiled roof with two half dormers and one modern eyebrow window. The visible timber framing is filled with brick, and it sits on a rubble foundation. The entrance front also has one storey and an attic, but is irregular in shape. The first floor consists of timber framing with brick filling, while the ground floor is made of galleted rubble. There are gabled dormers, and all windows have been replaced with casements. A modern two-bay extension has been added to the left, along with a glazed porch on the right. Inside, there is much heavy exposed timber, including a tie beam with diagonal braces leading to the crown post.
