Description
The barn at Redland Farm, located to the north of Redlands House, is a 17th century or earlier timber-framed structure that is weatherboarded. It features a large tiled roof that is half hipped at both ends and consists of four bays. The posts are visible from the east side, where the lower part of the wall has been rebuilt in brick. At each end of the barn, there are lower gabled extensions. The west wall has large double doors, which are likely a later addition. Inside, the roof includes one queen post and collar beam truss, while the other trusses have V-struts supporting the purlins. There are some wind braces in the roof, and the barn has close-set uprights with a stout half-rail. Some rafters have been renewed.
