Description

Old Dairy Farmhouse, located on Dairy Lane, is a much-restored timber-framed building dating from the 15th century or earlier. The front elevation is two storeys and an attic, with three windows on the right side. A left section, under a gable dating to the 17th century, is present. The house has high-pitched, tiled roofs, and leaded casements in old or re-used frames. The right section comprises an open hall with a storeroom and solar at the end, incorporating extensions to both the end and front. Visible timber framing with random stone filling is apparent. A left section constructed of brick features a tall end chimney. Inside the hall, heavy timbers and a crown post are present, along with restored screens, a passage, and a gallery. A stone Tudor fireplace is also found within the hall, alongside a large, modern mullioned and transomed window that provides light to the space.
