Description

Coakham Farmhouse is a 16th-century timber-framed house. The front elevation is two storeys and an attic, with three windows. It has a large tiled roof, half-hipped on the right side and with a long hip on the left. A compound Tudor chimney stack is situated centrally. A modern hipped-gabled dormer is visible. The first floor is tile-hung and contains 19th-century three-light casement windows. The ground floor is a mix of brickwork, with some visible timber framing on the left. There are two horizontal sliding sash windows present. A 19th-century door is accompanied by side lights. A right-hand extension was added in the early 19th century, featuring a hip tiled roof. A long, lean-to addition is located at the back left, including a small tiled dormer. A hipped-gabled wing is at the back right; the first floor is tile-hung, the ground floor is brick with a section of rubble stonework, and the first floor features a late 18th or early 19th-century metal lattice casement window.
