Description
The cart shed and granary located to the south-west of Crockham Grange Farmhouse is a 16th-century timber-framed structure. It features an open ground floor for the cart shed and a granary above, topped with a hipped tiled roof. The first floor is constructed of old wattle-and-daub and is whitewashed. There are some small modern windows present. The building has a rubble foundation with brick bases supporting the timber posts. Inside, tie beams are supported in the middle by later iron posts. The upstairs includes a queen post roof with wind braces to the through purlins. There are four weatherboarded stalls or bins, and the walls are partly weatherboarded on the inside, with some old brick filling behind. Additionally, there is a lean-to structure on the east side.
