Description
The Old Hall is a house that was originally three cottages, dating from the 17th century with later alterations. It features a timber-framed structure with brick nogging and a plain-tile roof that has stacks along the ridge. The building has one storey with an attic and a four-window range. The door is a 17th-century plank design with iron studs, set within a 20th-century brick and timber porch. The ground storey and attic have 20th-century lattice casements with two and three lights, including one dormer on the left and one in each of the three gables. The gables also have 20th-century bargeboards. To the left, there is an 18th-century brick barn that has a later stack on the ridge and now serves as part of the house and garage. There are 18th-century and 20th-century timber-frame and brick extensions at the rear.
Inside, some original beams remain, although many have been replaced with 20th-century imitations. The open fireplaces have been restored in the 20th century, and the roof features tie-beam trusses.
