Description
Baker Cottages is a house that was originally a row of cottages, dating from the 16th century. It features a timber frame that is exposed and close studded, with brick nogging and plaster infill, and part of the building is underbuilt with red brick. The roof is plain tiled. The structure consists of five framed bays and a projecting wing. It has two storeys and a hipped roof with gablets, while the projecting wing on the right has wavy bracing and a return hip. The roof rises at the centre point to the right. There are stacks located at the centre, as well as at the projecting ends on both the left and right sides. The first floor has five wooden casement windows, and there are four on the ground floor. The central entrance is through boarded doors in a hipped porch with sidelights, with another entrance to the right in the projecting wing.
