Description
White Shieling is a timber-framed building from the 16th century or earlier, originally consisting of two cottages that have been combined into one dwelling. It has two storeys and features five irregularly spaced windows. The building has a later projecting central section with a low gable, which likely housed a former chimney. The exposed timber framing has been largely restored and includes plastered filling. There is a rubble plinth and rubble walls on a small, projecting extension to the right. The windows are small modern leaded casements, and there are modern extensions at the rear. Inside, some timber framing is still visible.
