Description

Home Farmhouse is a 16th-century house with significant later alterations. The exterior was recased in 1855 by George Devey. A date plaque is located on the first floor. The main front features two storeys and an attic, with three windows. The roof is steeply pitched and hipped, with a cross-gable on the left and a lower gable on the right. Both gables project and are supported by carved brackets, with moulded bargeboards featuring a central pendant. The gable ends are half-timbered and plastered. The first floor is tile-hung and incorporates square oriel windows set on carved brackets. The ground floor is red brick with a diaper pattern of blue headers. The windows are 19th-century iron casements, with three or four lights. A tiled gabled porch, constructed of timber with a brick foundation, leads to a plain boarded door. Exposed timber is visible inside. The building forms a group with the Dairy building, the large Barn, and Home Farm Cottage.
