Description

Church Farmhouse is a house dating back to the 16th century, with alterations made in the 18th century. It is timber-framed and was refronted in red brick. The roof is tiled and hipped, rebuilt in 1981, with three hipped dormers and three chimney stacks, each featuring two diagonal shafts with offset heads on rectangular bases. The house is two storeys and has an attic. The south front has a plinth and features three bays of three-light leaded casement windows. Segmental arches are present above the ground-floor windows, with a two-light window between the centre and right-hand bays. A modern six-panelled door is set under a flat hood with brackets, located between the centre and left-hand bays. The west elevation is timber-framed to the right-hand bay and has four bays of modern casement windows. An addition on the left-hand side links the farmhouse to The Cottage, Cowdray Close. The north front is gabled with a later extension. The east front is timber-framed and incorporates a restored oak mullioned window on the first floor.
