Description
The Woolstones Community Centre, formerly known as Holy Trinity Church, is a former parish church that now serves as a community centre. It dates from the 14th century, with a porch added in the 15th century and the chancel rebuilt in 1861. The building was restored in 1866 and is constructed of rubble stone with tiled roofs. It features a small wooden bellcote at the west end and stone coped gables with finials. The church has a three-bay aisle-less nave with a gabled south porch that includes a Tudor arched doorway with a flat hoodmould. There are two restored 14th-century windows with reticulated cusped tracery, and a similar window on the west wall, which is flanked by angle buttresses. Inside, there is a 14th-century chancel arch and a timber nave roof supported by kingpost trusses, along with a timber structure at the west end that supports the belfry. A 14th-century piscina is located on the south wall of the nave, and there is a Norman font with relief arcading around the bowl.
